New Second-Level '.hk' Domain Name

The new Second-Level '.hk' domain name ('2LD') will be launched tentatively by January, 2004. This new domain name extension does not only provide you more choices on domain name registration, but also introduce a simplified registration procedure; supporting document is NOT required for the domain name registration.

Launch Schedule

Period	Duration	Basic Requirement for Applications
Priority Registration Period	12:00 noon on 5 Jan 2004 To 12:00 noon on 13 Feb 2004	Accept applications from holders of Hong Kong trademark/service mark for domain name with an exact match with their trademark/service mark.
Pre-Registration Period	12:00 noon 1 Mar 2004 To 5:30pm on 12 Mar 2004	Accept applications from existing customers applying for domain names having an exact match with their current 3rd level domain names.
Sunrise Period	12:00 noon on 22 Mar 2004 To 5:30pm on 2 Apr 2004	Accept applications from the public.
Official Launch	12:00 noon on 6 Apr 200	Accept applications from the public.
